Like a Dream,Not Real at All
by Courtney Jackson, special thanks to Lachrisha Mitchell
When I first saw you, it was in a dream
Not so real,
Not real at all.
You moved rhythmically in my heart,
making me feel incredible.
Temperatures moved through me like never before
When I first saw you, it was in a dream.
You came in
leaving behind nothing
I saw you,
You didn't notice me.
As you moved closer to the dance floor.
My body could feel your essence
From your face's expressions
I could tell that you took dancing with a passion
I admired your style
You may have had flaws,
but it was nothing we couldn't fix
The only things that separated us
Were the ones we seem to love, trust,
and come to know as friends.
They denied our passion to become one
Like love no longer lived here anymore
When I first saw you, it was in a dream.
You brightened the darkness and shed light
     to my soul.
