Alumnae Relations and Financial Aid Director

The Director of Alumnae Relations is responsible for the planning and implementation of programs and projects that strategically engage alumnae in strengthening programs and providing tangible benefits to alumnae and current students.

Serving as an ambassador, the Director of Alumnae Relations is charged with securing commitments from alumnae to provide fiscal support and volunteer service; collaborating with colleagues in the Development and Academic offices (including, but not limited to Admissions, Development, Public Relations and Student Activities) to create and maintain ways for alumnae participation that advance the goals of Notre Dame High School for Girls; partnering with Development to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward alumnae giving; and serving as a liaison between the Alumnae Board and Board of Directors and the academic and administrative leadership.

The Director of Alumnae Relations reports to the President, is a senior member of the NDHS Management Team.

The alumnae community currently numbers 13,000+, of whom approximately 8,000 may be reached via current contact information.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Work closely with the Alumnae Board of Directors, arranging its meetings, staffing its committees and ensuring strong and productive relationships between its members and the academic and administrative leadership
· Plan, implement and promote alumnae programs that support the school’s strategic plan in collaboration with colleagues within the Development and Academic Offices
· Ensure accurate and complete alumnae database records; capture contact, biographical and career information of alumnae via surveys, projects (e.g. alumna directory), correspondence, website, postal returns, etc.
· Establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumna, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally; maintain regular communication with alumna via direct contact, email blasts, alumni web pages, and print publications
· Educate graduating students about alumnae giving and engage them in programs
· Major focus: Partner with Recruitment Director to spearhead the introduction of alumnae involvement in the admissions process; partner with the Guidance Department to plan the growth and accessibility of career networking services for students and alumnae
· Collaborate closely with development colleagues in increasing support from alumnae; routinely identify and qualify alumnae prospects for gifts; communicate development-related activities via written contact reports filed in Results Plus and periodic attendance at prospect management meetings
· Oversee and balance the budget for Alumnae Relations; within the annual program budget, manage existing and/or additional alumnae programs, services and communications
· Raise funds for select special projects and events in collaboration with Development colleagues
· Supervise Development Associate and volunteers

OTHER SKILLS:
· A minimum of four years of experience in alumnae relations and external affairs with demonstrated accomplishment in fostering productive relationships with volunteers and developing volunteer leadership
· Experience and/or interest in contemporary art forms across the disciplines
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with colleagues throughout the high school, other constituents and the public
· The demonstrated ability to strategize, implement and build constituency programs and activities, along with a talent for motivating volunteers
· Demonstrably strong writing, planning and organizational skills
· Flexibility and initiative, as well as the ability to work independently, combined with the skills for thriving in a team environment to achieve school goals
· High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information
· Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines
· Experience with Results Plus or Raiser's Edge or a similar constituent database
· Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed
· Bachelor's degree
